Since Zone, there isnt any all-girl-band that i'd fancied till they zomg into industy. Their first 2 single were already tied with 2 top-rated anime-Gundam 00 and Bleach & they they sure goona rock thru their career!

Tons of peeps had questioned me: ‘What’s up with the craze over J-pop?’

I guessed it all started when Mel send me his [chunk of anime-theme-songs collection] and introduce me into anime~ On my part, I always like to be different, that I just listen to it, without understanding. Interestingly I just grew fond on the language (lazy to learn that is). It comes to a stage that I start to dislike English/Chinese songs, except songs by MLTR and some oldies; Chinese wise only some of those songs~

So it started with anime-songs then it brings me to love individual artist like YUI, appreciating band like DAI (disbanded), ZONE (disbanded), Garnet Crow and Kobukuro. Not forgetting those underrated artists like Oku Hanako and the 90s-ZARD! There are those whom I like initially but just for that period~ But 1 thing for sure singer-songwriter YUI will be in my fav list for the longest time to come!

Recently I starting to appreciate techo-pop-rock-electronic singer Tamaki Nami for her groovy dance steps, and her belief to not to lip sync while singing and dancing at the same time (that not easy!) She’s better known for her collaboration with anime like Gundam and stuffs. Being hot and cute is another plus too!

Perhaps some day I take up some Jap lesson to save my trouble on looking for lyric translation! Perhaps. . .

This song is sure a classic for those Anime fan outta there! It the theme song used in Dragon Ball GT!!! I'd heard it pretty lots of time as I had the song in my play list (by FIELD OF VIEW, [weird name]) but it was just minutes ago that I realize that the original lyricist was none other than ZARD! It was then I found her rendition of the song! I was so exuberant, high for some reasons~

To be honest I’d initially thought the song was some ‘Friendship related and stuff’, ‘Some fighting element in it’- I mean it was used in Dragon Ball after all. How wrong I was, when I checked up the lyric translation! It’s a love song~ =]

Sakai Izumi better known as ZARD has since left for Heaven but will always be remembered by her fans!

The only J-pop duo i respect

I was never once impressed by J-pop boy band till I came across this unusual duo combination of Kentarō Kobuchi and Shunsuke Kuroda forming Kobukuro. Why unusual? Height differences of about 20cm standing side by side; that alone caught some visual attention, yea?
I thought this duo must be some big shot as Singapore seldom advertise on J-artiste. Well anyway, I was immediately captivated by their soulful/heartfelt vocal which left me frantically searching high and low for their music. Even though both had rather distinctive vocal, but somehow they manage to compliment each other. I’d always respect artistes that does not depend on external factors but plainly on music alone to gain their fame, and Kobukuro is 1 such. The other duo like Tackey & Tsubusa and WaT are totally not in their league! (Guess many she-male fans so gonna bash me up for making this statement)!

In fact, I’d listen to them long ago on the duet between Ayaka and Kubokuro on ‘Winding road’. Then I thought was Ayaka’s song, and the duet part is just some background vocalist or some folk-country singer, without realizing that they are in fact Kubokuro! Shame on me.
Highly recommend their ‘Kazemidori’ and ‘Tsubomi’ (interestingly this song started and ended the same way). Both are nicely arrange with top-notch vocal performance.
